Women with certain heart conditions like mechanical heart valves are on long term anticoagulation. With pregnancy concerns and questions regarding continuation and choice of anticoagulation therapy arise. This is a high risk condition with implications for the fetus as well as the mother. This video discusses these implications and gives an overview of recommendations regarding anticoagulation in pregnant women with heart disease in a simplified manner.
