My symptoms of mental illness fluctuate according to my stress levels, although I am generally in a chronic state of anxiety. When I start having frequent trauma flashbacks and night terrors I often find myself with bothersome racing thoughts and (what feel like) intolerable emotions. In intense times like these I often find myself craving hard drugs, self harming, and even hospitalized in the past. When my anxiety increases so do my symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD).

I've recently started taking an antipsychotic medication called Olanzapine that helps me in these moments. There is HUGE societal and selfinternalized stigma surrounding antipsychotics and those who take them, and I feel it is important to talk about so we can all get the support we need when we need it. We all experience difficulties with our mental health at times in our life and knowing there are options available increases the likelihood we will find something beneficial for us at that time to cope.

This isn't so much of a medication review as an opportunity to offer myself some insight and validation. I know I will have difficult days ahead. My videos help me work through them sometimes.
