The Indian Classical Arts are like a Banyan tree, with roots firmly entrenched in history, but the branches free to reach out new avenues. Honouring this tradition of constant new creation, Maneesha Nrityalaya presents
Aparimita
the Boundless...
A new repertoire of Kathak, traditional yet unique. We begin with a Dhrupad followed by a rare Taal Aada Chautaal.
A special feature is the Powada, a traditional Maharashtrian folk song about heroic deeds. This Powada is sung in praise of Rani Lakshmi Bai, the Queen of Jhansi. See the story of this brave lady, who fought for her sovereignty, her motherland's freedom, who was "Aparimita" personified!
