I haven't touched this mode in almost a decade and a half or so... but I do recall my sib and I loved playing in freestyle and letting the monkeys just flail about. That said, please forgive me for the absolutely pants performance on that last song, lol.

It's possible to unlock Pink Monkey if you thoroughly clear each song, at each difficulty, at each available length. Once you've done that, there's a chance "Dance, Pink Monkey, Dance" will drop from the Gotcha Machine at the Travel Station, and pulling that will unlock her.
