As someone who's worked with, and taught with, both QGIS and ArcGIS for almost a decade, here's my take on which is best (and most importantly, which is best for you). A lot of the reviews around don't seem to consider the latest updates, in particular the advent of ArcGIS Pro, which in my opinion is a big jump forward from ArcMap and ArcScene available previously but then QGIS keeps getting better over time, with more features and plugins available than ever before.

Whether you're new to GIS, looking to start using it for your business or thinking of swapping from whatever package you use at the moment, hopefully this video will give you some insight into whether QGIS or ArcGIS is best for you. I don't have any vested interest in either piece of software, so can give you an honest and unbiased opinion on the pros and cons of each.

While neither of them is a terrible choice they're two of the leading geographical information system (GIS) packages for a reason there are pros and cons that mean deciding between ArcGIS vs QGIS isn't a straightforward question.
