While I could have included this information in voiceover, I didn't want to distract from the rest of the video. The layout has 5 levels, gets from each level to the next climbing graded sections (no helix anywhere), models the Pennsylvania Railroad from Philadelphia to Shamokin.

This film shows the final two run sessions of my father's O Scale layout. A little background: over the past 5 years trains have not been running due to rewiring from DC to AC for digital handheld control. It used to run flawlessly but after sitting so long without frequent run sessions, tracks were quite dirty and some of the switches needed attention. I did a little cleaning between the two sessions shown here but there isn't time to do more.

Sadly, as of time of this being published, the layout is being disassembled and the equipment sold. I really only made this video for my father to remember; but, I hope many of you find inspiration in his lifelong passion. In my opinion, he really achieved something special. While never meant to be completed, with over 50+ years of work daily, everything was done except 5% of the scenery elements. In truth, some scenery elements were even removed prior to filming.

This will be my only model train related video, future content, now that I had good reason to get a camera, will be focused on my overland adventures.
