Lakewood Church moved into the recently empty Compaq Center when the 50,000 weekly attendees outgrew the previous space. The scope of the project consisted of a 300,000 square foot renovation and a 300,000 square foot classroom addition of new construction. The addition was built over an existing street, spanned three floors and was made up entirely of classrooms and administrative offices.

Firstofits kind conversion of the 300,000 sf existing Compaq Center sports arena to a 16,000seat sanctuary, a 9,000 sf bookstore and a new construction of 30,000 sf education facilities.
