This video is a quick demo of how to control our R series L16 linear servo using a photocell and an arduino board.

Video transcript below.

In this video, I demonstrate how I've set up one of our "I" series linear actuators via arduino with a photoresistor. The actuator extends when more light hits the resistor and retracts when i cover it up with my hand.

There are lots of potential applications for this ranging from automatic chicken coop doors to arduino animatronics for Christmas decorations and doors that selflock at night time.

Actuonix actuators come in both 6 and 12V, we've used the 6V model and thus, are able to power the actuator directly from the arduino board, simplifying the project. If you're going to use a 12V actuator, you'll need to use a relay.

You can use our I or R series actuators with this arduino setup. We've got them in dozens of different stroke lengths and gear ratios.

Actuonix Motion Devices was formerly named Firgelli Technologies. We changed our name in the summer of 2016. We offer the same powerful micro linear actuators, great service, fast shipping and low prices as before.
