Follow
Mrs. Ottes Artroom

Using recycled materials, you will learn create a cardboard abstract face.

We will look at the artworks of 2 contemporary artists: Kimmy Cantrell, American artist who creates abstract ceramic clay faces and Sandra Silberzweig, an Artist from Canada who paints beautiful and colorful faces. Notice the shapes, colors and composition used and start your own creation with a sketch.

Materials used: 9x12 drawing paper, recycled cardboard (I used the front and back of a box of Cheerios and other thicker cardboard and corrugated cardboard), pencil, eraser, black sharpie, scissors, oil pastels (I used Portfolio’s watersoluble oil pastels and CrayPas junior artist oil pastels), white glue ( I like Aleene’s tacky glue or a glue gun).
