Arthur Hacker was an English painter of legends and portraits and an accomplished portrait artist, He painted Interior scenes of domestic life and traveled extensively in Europe, he attended the atelier of Bonnat in Paris where he would find many other Englishmen attending who also made their mark in the arts, including Solomon J. Solomon, who would later pen his own book on painting years later. Hacker was much admired for his daring compositions of the unusual and did not shy away from technical problems in so doing. His work is still much admired today.
