Dr. Edward Ahn participates in the Bobby Jones Classic annually with his son. Interestingly, what sparked Ahn's interest in Chiari was after surgically treating a professional golfer for his Chiari, learning of his difficulties thereafter, even with surgical treatment. This realization inspired Ahn to really focus on finding a better, more reliable way to solve this problem.

Dr. Ahn briefly runs through the basics of Chiari malformation and syringomyelia, including anatomy, surgical treatments and techniques, and pain management in children. He also shares a few different examples of patients with resolved Chiari and syringomyelia, some by surgical intervention and others just through the natural anatomical changes as children age and grow.

Dr. Ahn also addresses connective tissue disorders, instability, and fusions, and how he approaches treatment for these particular patients.
