Assessing the value of a portfolio of grants and investments

Follow
NPC

From SROI to cost benefit analysis and value for money, in this event we will ask whether it is helpful to assess the value of a portfolio of grant or investments and what can be learnt from three different attempts to do just that. We will hear from:

NPC’s David Pritchard who with Ipsos UK and the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations assessed the value for money of the Coronavirus Community Support Fund. The funding for the CCSF came from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and was distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF). The fund was a £187m grant programme that funded over 8,200 organisations in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector between 2020 and 2021.

The UNESCO child and family research centre at the University of Galway on their Social Return of Investment evaluation of Rethink Ireland’s three Education Funds. Rethink Ireland’s Education Fund, 20172020, was open to projects focused on improving educational outcomes for those experiencing educational disadvantage.

ATQ consultants who in 2022 carried out a cost value analysis of social outcomes contracts for Big Society Capital. The analysis drew on data and insights on the Social Outcomes Contracts (SOC) market in the UK over the last ten years.
