Rugged coastlines, crystal clear mountain lakes and white sandy beaches. Christian Loß and cameraman Nico have big plans there: They want to get to know Asturias, the wild north of Spain, and find out whether it is really as beautiful here as in the photos on Instagram. On their trip, of course, they want to visit Oviedo, drink the famous cider with locals, hike through foggy mountains and discover lonely beaches.

In the 10th century, when Asturias was still an independent kingdom, Oviedo served as the royal seat. There has also been a university here since the end of the 16th century, which today, with almost 30,000 students, has a major impact on the cityscape and cultural life in Oviedo.

We continue to the Costa Verde, the green coast of Asturias. The region has over 400 km of coastline, with steep cliffs, rugged cliffs, impressive caves, but also paradisiacal sandy beaches. When the mountains and the beach are as close together as they are here, you obviously have to look at both. Another destination: Covadonga! One of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain with a correspondingly huge church, the Basílica de Santa María la Real de Covadonga.
