Downtown Boiling Springs (~mi. 1124.6) to Carlisle, PA (mi. 1132.5) What an absolutely amazing day! I hiked about eight miles this morning to be able to get to the hotel and check in early. Had a great chance to rest and do my laundry, and clean up a bit. In the afternoon I got the best trail magic I’ve had yet on the trail. The McHugh family, David, Andy, and Mollie tracked me down at the hotel and supplied me with what is about four or five days worth of food! Just unbelievable and I am so very grateful. They had been trying to meet up with me on the trail to surprise me, but missed me in Harpers Ferry as well as one of the last road crossings before Carlisle I told them it was probably better meeting up at the hotel because I smelled a heck of a lot better ha ha. If the trail has taught me any things so far, it’s that there are many good people out there who are willing to do acts of kindness for nothing in return. No value can be assigned to these transactions
After hitting the diner for a good breakfast to start the day tomorrow, I will be back on the AT!

Todays menu: Cup of chicken orzo soup, side salad, baked potato, fried haddock, coffee cake, granola bar, small amount of GORP, naked smoothie drink, 20 oz. Gatorade, 10 oz. Gatorade, bottle of chocolate milk, cinnabun cheesecake, scoop of vanilla ice cream, dinner roll, and water.
