Ata Kakara Pitha Recipe ( Odia ) | Kakara Pitha by mrunalinee : Kakara pitha is a deepfried sweet dumpling from Odisha , offered to Lord Jagannath, goddess Laxmi and in many other temple deities as well. It has many variartions with sweet filling or without stuffing , such as sooji Kakara ( using semolina ) , chaula kakara ( using rice ) . Here I have prepared this Kakara pitha using whole wheat flour ( Atta / Ata ) with sweet coconut stuffing . Which tastes great while serve hot. Also served hot or cold in many Festivals . Servings : 3 Persons
Ingredients : ( 1 cup = 125 gm )
1. Whole Wheat Flour ( Atta / Ata ) 2 cups ( 250 gm )
2. Water 2½ cup ( or as required )
3. Sugar 2 tbsp
4. Salt 1/2 tsp
5. Ghee ( clarified butter ) 1 tbsp
6. Fennel seeds ( Saunf / Pana Madhuri ) 1 tbsp
7. Grated Coconut 1 cup ( instead of it use crumbled cottage cheese or Chhena )
8. Sugar 3/4 cup ( instead of it use jaggery )
9. Green Cardamom powder 1 tsp ( 4 nos. )
10. Oil to fry
