Monday August 5 2024 at 7.13 and 7.21. The 7.03 Nottingham to Matlock (8.07) and, from the other side, the 6.14 Lincoln to St Pancras (9.03) trains. Came here 11 years ago to the day    • Attenborough Station Level Crossing   Since then the postbox built into the bridge is now out of use, the ivy covering one very substantial pillar of the footbridge has gone, a footpath sign has been put in and the war memorial has been added. John Herrett, Horace Randle and Gordon Smedley were all 20 when they were killed and probably started work here as young teenagers. I wonder if any worked the crossing. Three E Watson's from that regiment were killed in that war. The plaque reads "It is sweet and fitting to die for one's country". I cannot agree.
