 Papyruss Book Reading Day

Good morning. A day to read a book of papyrus.

The weather is getting hotter. On a day like today, listening to music while eating red bean shaved ice made by grinding ice in a cool, airconditioned shop seems like the perfect vacation spot. In spite of the hot weather, we hope that all the family members of our channel are staying healthy.

The novel I am going to read today is “rice cake” by Kim Yoojung. There are already six works by Kim Yoojeong that I have read, starting with “The Pot”, “Mountain Traveler”, “Follow Me”, “Baby”, “Brother” and “Toad”. I think this is enough to be called the Kim Yoojung Literature Museum... How is it?
Kim Yujeong appeared in the literary circles in 1935 when a work called “Large Rain” was selected for the Chosun Ilbo’s New Year’s Literature and “Nodaji” for the Chosun JoongAng Ilbo. In just a few years, he wrote more than 30 short stories, including “Golden Picking Soybean Field” (1935), “Manmubang” (1935), “Mountain Valley” (1935), “Autumn” (1936), and “Taraji” (1937). They are very active while presenting.

Kim's world of work is closely related to the artist's own real life and the lives of people around him. He lost his parents when he was young and grew up in the oppressive atmosphere of his prodigal older brother, but unlike his family atmosphere, he created a world of work unique to Kim Yoojung by mixing humor and witty laughter throughout his works. In particular, his fun storytelling skills, shown in “Spring Spring”, “Camellia Flower” and “Mountain Traveler,” can be said to have matured as a storyteller.

Kim Yoojung, a writer who lived a humanely pitiful and unhappy life. If you take a peek into his life, it is painful, sad, and pitying. However, I think his works are enough to recognize him as one of the best writers in Korean literature because they make the reader feel both fun and touching.

The same goes for “rice cake” that we will read today. Although the story may seem a bit dark, the ability to lead the story so as not to sink too heavily throughout the work is a masterpiece. I hope you enjoy watching it, and I hope you enjoy it until the end. Subscriptions, likes, and alarm settings are a great help to channel operation.
