Aussie Vanlife - Shark Hole Expedition

Making Stuff, Going Places

Not so epic three days.... but at least there was an epic finish.

That's not really fair, it was actually pretty good. Shortly after arriving at Swansea Heads, I spotted whales close to shore. That consumed my entire morning as I sat there watching them pass. In the afternoon I headed down to the rocks below the headlands for a wander around.

The following day saw rains set in. It was fairly consistent all day, but gave me the opportunity to visit the library and upload some videos to YouTube. I also ran low on battery power after 4 days of limited sunlight and short drives, so had to do some random sightseeing to charge the battery.

By day 3, the rain had cleared up so took the opportunity to go for a bike ride around Swansea and Caves Beach. In the afternoon, it was a visit to the Sea Caves at Caves Beach, then the real reason I wanted to come here, a walk down to Shark Hole. this turned out to be a 6km round trip, but we worth it!

Keep an ear open for some of my vanlifer tips, recommendations and general experiences throughout the video.

About me:
My name's Jason. I worked as Mechanical Engineer until mid 2023 when I was made redundant. Never one to miss an opportunity to have more fun in my life, I decided to move out of my house and started living full time in my self converted Ford Transit campervan. I pass my days mountain biking, bush walking and generally exploring the beautiful natural attractions that Australia has to offer.
