Shadow Housing Minister Michael Sukkar says Australia has “gone massively backwards” under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be in Cairns on Thursday, where he will appear alongside Queensland Premier Steven Miles at the site of the state’s biggestever social housing project, which will deliver up to 490 affordable homes.

“When this government came to office, there were more first home buyers, there were more homes being built, there were more homes being approved,” Mr Sukkar told Sky News Australia.

“On every single statistic, we’ve gone massively backwards … under Anthony Albanese’s watch.”
