One of my final trips of 2023 was on ‪@AustrianAirlines‬ flying from London to Chicago via Vienna, allowing me to experience both their newest aircraft, the A320neo and one of their oldest, the Boeing 777. Austrian isn't known for a stateoftheart hard product, but the airline's soft product, service and food and drink is what it is better known for. But how does the airline stack up against the competitors or even its sister airlines within Lufthansa.

There are plenty of things that should be upgraded, such as the seats and lounges in Vienna, but there are some little elements that really shine. After paying circa £1,900 on a return ticket, there's certainly value for money to be had by picking Austrian and worth considering, but did it live up to expectations?
