Automated LEGO Train Station | EV3

Follow
Tegowalik

This video shows an automated LEGO Train Station with EV3s. Automation in terms of that incoming trains are automatically directed to a free platform. Additionally, the smallest free platform is chosen the train fits in. If the train is too long for the train station or all platforms are occupied, the train is directed to a backup track.
In total, 3 EV3s are used, 3 Color Sensors, 4 IR Sensors and 4 XL Motors. The code is available here: https://github.com/Tegowalik/LEGOMIN...
However, the code is not very well documented and will not really be applicable for many people due to the need of 3 EV3s. A simplified and flexible Powered Up version based on the Automated Train Switches (   • Automated Random LEGO Train Switches ...  ) is planned, which requires only 2 hubs (at most one City Hub), but more hubs can be used to make a larger setup.
