Avoiding NonResident Tax on Your Estate

There is a 25% NonResident tax which will be held back by your executor for your nonresident beneficiaries. Probably not what you intended and your beneficiaries may really need the money as soon as possible.

There's a very simple solution: Segregated funds. You don't need a lawyer and you can continue to invest likely the same way.

A Segregated fund bypassing your estate and pays out just like insurance as a death claim. In doing so there is no need for your executor to hold back 25% for your nonresident beneficiaries.
