In the Amazing stories episode titled, "The Mission” a B17 was damaged due to an airtoair engagement. Ball turret gunner could was trapped in the turret and the bombers landing gear would not deploy. The stories premise is the he gunner would be crushed on landing. This narrative was as shared by correspondent Andy Rooney in his book, “My War”. The video will address the evidence to support the narrative and address what steps the crew could take to maximize the ball turrets gunners survival.
