Dating to 1944, this War Department training film "B17 Propeller Installation" was created in cooperation with Boeing Aircraft. The film was intended for education of crew chiefs and ground maintenance crew, who might have to replace propellers in the field. The type of propeller that is shown being installed is a threebladed, hydromatic, WEE50473 or 505, full feathering prop made by Hamilton Standard. Hub: 23E50473. Blade: 6477A6. Diam.: 11 ft. 7 in.

The Boeing B17 Flying Fortress is a fourengined heavy bomber developed in the 1930s for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). From its introduction in 1938, the B17 Flying Fortress evolved through numerous design advances, becoming the thirdmost produced bomber of all time.
