We caught up with Babyface Ray & Samuel Shabazz in LA during BET Awards weekend for a special edition “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down they talked about their hard work paying off, the difference between the Westside & Eastside of Detroit, Samuel starting to make music in 2006, his dad being signed to Boyz II Men, taking him on tour, they recall their first time recording together, their first song & video together “Pinky & The Brain”, Samuel’s inspiration for trying different types of music, moving to Atlanta after school, going to college, his new project ‘PLANEBOY’, Babyface Ray giving him “SAY YES”, putting billboards up in Detroit for “1800 CALL SAM”, their song “Dotted Line”, their partnership, his thoughts on people talking to him while he’s out at the club, giving back to the community, the inspiration for his song “Gallery Dept”, the importance of family over money, upcoming project, and much more!
