❓How long can you hold some of these positions for❓Which one do you think is the hardest?!

Balance is an underrated component of a traditional rehabilitation or [P]Rehab program often times because it’s boring! Yes, while standing on one leg is working on balance, it’s typically too easy of an exercise for many and you need to challenge the 3 subsystems of balance to a great degree.

Now, if you have a hard time balancing on one leg for more than 30seconds or there is a big difference between standing on your left leg vs your right lef...you need to work on it! The easiest and most time efficient way to work on your balance is to stand on one leg while you are brushing your teeth! As every good dentist will tell you, 2 minutes of brushing 2x/day should do the trick. So that’s 1 minute on your left leg and one minute on your right leg, in the morning and at night!

If you can easily stand on one leg for more than 30s, check out many of the variations in these videos. They combine many components of static and dynamic balance. Furthermore, they challenge each subsystem of balance: vestibular, visual, and somatosensory systems.
