Bald Eagle Fostering Eaglet

Follow
OWL Rehab

Our wonderful nonreleasable bald eagle Curly is fostering a bald eaglet from Powell River. Curly fosters countless bald eaglets that come in to care at OWL each year by caring, feeding, and guarding the young eagles. To date, Curly has fostered over 50 bald eaglets over the 9 years she's been with us, not including the young she had in the wild before coming to us. Curly is a vital permanent resident at OWL, providing young eaglets guidance and care from their species in the most wild way possible with minimal human contact. This ensures a successful release and a perfect start as they go off on their own in the wild.

Notice at 5:50 minutes in the video, Curly carefully places her feet and curls in her talons as she enters in the nest, not to harm the eaglet and damage the nest.
