BANNING ALCOHOL ON FLIGHTS 2022 Many of the airlines are banning alcohol during flights. The reason originally was due to the mandate of wearing a mask at all times. From the moment you arrived at the airport, until leaving your destination airport.
Refusing to wear a mask is a violation of the law and subject to a hefty fine or being banned from flying with that airline in the future. If the passenger becomes unruly, threatening or abusive they could be facing imprisonment.
Since masks have to be warn at all times except when eating or drinking, not serving alcohol would limit the times that a flight attendant would have to interact or warn a passenger to keep their mask on.
However the increased confrontations of Inflight rage has increased dramatically since the pandemic and it has mainly been associated with alcohol consumption.

Should alcohol be banned on flights and at airport bars?
This is a concern that the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) is considering at this time.
Many airlines have already put this in to practice, pushing the dates further and further out as the incidences are on the rise.
Over 5000 reported situations of aggressive and abuse charges were laid in 2021 due to abusive behaviour by passengers. Ranging from not wanting to wear a mask, to not wanting to wear a seat belt, or having their alcohol consumption restricted. The abuse was either directed at another passenger or towards the flight crew themselves. And as stated, most times these outbursts were associated with intoxication.
Remember in these times when someone acts out, there is going to be at least one (if not several) phone camera, capturing the entire event. Once they post this to social media, these videos tend to go viral. With this behaviour being captured as evidence, it can effect that person in so many professional, community and familial ways, causing an extreme life altering moment in time.
