“Shark Tank” investor Barbara Corcoran discusses how she built her realestate empire and what advice she would give to aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs; she also reveals what the sharks are actually like offcamera.

According to Corcoran, the cast is “like buds,” so it’s difficult for them to act so confrontational on set, describing how the producer has to constantly remind them that they’re not supposed to get along.

“All the people on that show are talented in different ways,” she explained. “We’ve all learned from each other. On every single set we learn something new. I never knew that, so what is more exciting than being in school every day with really bright minds? And having the camera on and getting a practice on these young entrepreneurs? I mean, it’s a great combination.”

Corcoran joked that she’s the oldest shark on set, so she’s planning on dying in her seat — which would undoubtedly help the show’s already stellar ratings. So, the next time you watch them group argue it out on set, know that it’s all in good fun.
