The Barbell Back Squat is a squat pattern exercise that is a primary squat variants.

PRIMARY MUSCLES WORKED: Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes, Adductors, Low Back

EXERCISE TECHNIQUE CUES: Position the barbell on your upper traps. With feet roughly shoulderwidth apart, break at the hips and knees to squat down while keeping a neutral spine and chest out. Drive through the midfoot to stand.
