Baro Auliyas' Mazar is situated at Atwari upazila under Panchagarh district. The distance of this shrine from Atwari Sadar is about 9 km. and 15 km. from Panchagarh town.
It is known from the history that many Sufis, saints, spiritual men and enlightened ascetics came to Bengal from distant Persia, Yemen and various parts of Arabia for the purpose of propagating Islam. At that time 12 Auliya came by sea and settled in Chittagong. That place in Chittagong city is still well known as 'Baro Auliya'. Under the direction of KamelePir Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (ra) of Delhi they started propagating Islam in
Atwari upazila under the leadership of Hemayet Ali Shah, one of the Baro Auliyas, spread Islam to other parts of the country and started preaching Islam.
Although the exact date of arrival of all these pious saints is not known, there are rumors that, 'Baro Auliya' came and settled here in the middle of the seventeenth century and focuses on propagating Islam as a spiritual force. At that time, the lower caste Hindus, oppressed by the misrule of the Hindu Brahminical kings, were inspired by the religious ideology of Baro Auliya and began to gather in groups under the banner of Islam.

All these auliyas who came from the far Middle East to convey the enlightened message of Islam were unmarraged. When they breathed their last here while preaching the peaceful message of Islam, they were laid to rest in this land. Whose graves are still visible here. The place was named 'Baro Auliya' after 12 Auliya was buried here one by one and later a shrine was built on their grave.

Initially, there was a house built with Chhan on this shrine. It is said that there was a tin made chauchala house on the shrine till 1990. Later, under the supervision of the district administration and under the patronage of Panchagarh district council, the ‘Baro Aulia Mazar’ was paved.

Another marvelous example of Mughal architecture at atwary is Chheprajhar Paharbhanga Mosque. It is known from a broken plaque attached to this very ancient mosque that it was built in 1033 AH.
25 feet long and 15 feet wide Chheprajhar Paharbhanga Mosque was built by Shahad Mandal.
Built according to Mughal architecture, the rectangular mosque also has three main domes and four low minarets at the four corners. The tops of the domes are patterned and ringshaped belts.
There is a lovely archway to enter this mosque. The architectural design of the arch is similar to that of the Mirzapur Shahi Mosque is at Mirzapur village of Atwary.
Entering through the archway there is a paved open courtyard in front of the main mosque.There are some terracotta paintings all over the walls of the Chheprajhar Paharbhanga Mosque.
As the Mirzapur Shahi Mosque and the Chheprajhar Paharbhanga Mosque are not far away, it is thought that this mosque was damaged during the earthquake like the Mirzapur Shahi Mosque. Although the Mirzapur Shahi Mosque was repaired in the aftermath of the earthquake, it is gradually being demolished as it has not been repaired. As a result of going to the ground, the height of this mosque has decreased a lot.
Due to the striking similarities between the architectural styles of the two mosques, it is presumed that some of the architects, builders and artisans of this mosque were involved in the construction of Mirzapur Shahi Mosque.
