One of the most fundamental concepts in Geography and GIS is related to coordinate systems and projections. In this video, I talked about the basic differences between Geographic Coordinate System (GCS), a coordinate system introduced on spherical surfaces to pinpoint locations, and the Projected Coordinate System (PCS), a coordinate system introduced on flat surfaces to pinpoint locations as well as to calculate areas and distances in metric units.
