BMP stands for Basic Metabolic Panel, which is an important blood test that helps assess how well a patient’s body metabolizes and uses oxygen.

The BMP consists of eight tests measuring electrolytes and minerals in the blood, as well as albumin (a protein) levels, renal function (how well your kidneys are working), liver function, and more.

So why are we singing about it? Because BMP normal values are tested on the NCLEX and regularly used in nursing practices.
