Batman making an appearance in the CW Arrowverse, sharing the screen with the likes of The Flash, Green Arrow, and Supergirl, was highly requested by the fandom. The CW brought in Superman, which eventually led to the TV show Superman and Lois, but in the case of Batman, Batwoman got her show instead, conveying that Bruce Wayne had left Gotham a few years prior to the show's events. Batman's inclusion could have led to a Justice Leaguetype teamup in the Arrowverse, and many Batman adaptations in TV feature Batman sparingly. Examples include Gotham Knights and Titans, which featured Dick Grayson as Nightwing, Jason Todd as Red Hood, Barbara Gordon, and Tim Drake as Robin. The Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, inspired by the DC Comics event, featured Kevin Conroy as an older Bruce Wayne. The DCU will hopefully shed light on the Batfamily in ways that couldn't be accomplished on television.
