7pm on Sunday 9th February 2003 saw the launch of BBC Three: the new digital entertainment channel that replaced BBC Choice.
This recording starts a little before 7pm but I have edited the downtime.
Recorded from Freeview on an ONdigital Nokia Mediamaster set top box. After the EPG channel description, the offline MHEG caption shows briefly before a holding slide is broadcast in 4:3. An ARC happens fairly quickly to broadcast in 16:9.
This is a VHS recording that has unfortunately deteriorated in the past 16 years so the sound quality isn't perfect.
