Beaumaris Castle, located on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, is one of the most outstanding examples of medieval military architecture, often considered the pinnacle of Edward I's campaign to conquer Wales.

The castle is renowned for its symmetrical concentric design, featuring a sophisticated "walls within walls" structure. This layout includes an outer wall with numerous defensive towers and an inner wall with even more formidable fortifications, creating multiple layers of defense. The castle's entrance is protected by a substantial gatehouse, a fortified dock for supply ships, and extensive waterfilled moats.

Despite its impressive design and advanced defensive features, Beaumaris Castle was never completed due to financial constraints and changing political priorities. Nevertheless, the existing structures remain remarkably wellpreserved.
