On Christmas Eve, the town square was filled with festive cheer, but Lila felt disconnected from it all. The lights, the carols, the laughter—it all felt distant, as if she were watching from behind a glass wall. She walked aimlessly until she found herself at the edge of town, near the old, forgotten church that had been abandoned for years.

The snow fell softly around her as she noticed something unusual—a faint light coming from inside the church. No one ever went there, especially not at night. Intrigued, she pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped inside.

The interior was cold and dark, except for a single candle burning on the altar. In front of it, there was an old, dusty box with an inscription carved into the lid: “Only open on Christmas Eve.”

Lila hesitated, her breath clouding the air in front of her. She knelt by the box and, with trembling hands, opened it.

Inside was a simple silver bell. It looked ancient, yet polished and pristine. Next to it, a note read:
"Ring the bell, and the past will find you."

Lila’s heart raced. She had heard stories about the church—a place where people once came to make wishes, but only if they truly believed. The past had always felt like a heavy shadow to her, full of moments she had buried deep.

With a deep breath, she lifted the bell and gave it a soft ring.

The sound was gentle but clear, echoing throughout the empty church. Suddenly, the air felt warmer, and the candle’s flame grew brighter. As Lila looked around, the church began to change. She saw figures—familiar faces—appearing in the pews, but they weren’t from the present. They were people she hadn’t seen in years, some long gone.

A figure in the back stood up and started walking toward her. It was someone she thought she had lost forever.

Lila’s heart pounded as the figure drew nearer, the bell still in her hand. She had the choice to embrace what was coming or leave before the past fully returned.

Would she stay and confront what she had forgotten, or turn away and keep the past buried?

The answer lay just moments away, but what she would find remained uncertain.
