An ILS approach and landing on runway 33 in Lajes Field or Lajes Air Base on Terceira Island, Portugal. Terceira Island is one of the volcanic islands in the Azores. Lajes is a small village next to the airport. The airport is a military airport used mainly by the Portuguese Air Force and United States Air Force. Lajes is also one of the main diversion airports for airlines crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The runway is 3310 meters long and 60 meters wide with a 3.2 degrees glide slope.
