In this basic tutorial we look at different types of RAN architectures that are always being discussed. We start with the Distributed RAN (DRAN) and then look at Centralized and Cloud RAN (both referred to as CRAN) architectures. We also quickly look at RAN functional splits for 5G and then tie this all together.

We also look at how Samsung and Nokia discuss these architectures in the context of 5G.
