Masks are one of the most important and foundational skills to understand when you start to learn retouching and editing in Affinity Photo. I use layer masks in every edit that I do, so it's a good idea to get a good understanding of masks early on. You can use masks to cut subjects out of from the background, retouch skin, color grade certain parts and many other things.
