This type of demolition system scales easily to heavy loads, because it divides the weight with a series of levers. Principle explanation:    • Domino kapla construction tutorial #1...  
The systems are mostly invisible on the destruction video (integrated inside the walls or hidden behind structures). The right front wall failed because the system got stuck in the corner. A flaw was identified quite late during construction, to avoid deconstructing it was retrofitted (almost as poorly as the 737max...).

Demolition systems are constructed in parallel to create a platform. The Temple stairs are constructed over the "starting part" of the systems (trigger), so one must go through the stairs to trigger the destruction, hence the massive tower falling. After the systems are triggered (in the middle, facing the tower), they propagate quickly from front to back.

In the slingshot configuration the rope is wrapped around the arm and attached near the counterweight. The ball is thus not thrown but instead swings into an arc and wraps around the structure in front. See the Knex Machine video for more details about the trebuchet:    • Knex Machines

See the Knex Machine video for more details about the Carousel. The Carousel has two modes, the motor mode (constant speed) and the overdrive mode. In overdrive the carousel is accelerating under the pull of the weight, and the motor must be deconnected (or it would prevent/resist the acceleration). Three mecanisms are used to make the transition happen (motor clutch, weight clutch and ratchet).
