Belgium Pledges 30 F16 Fighter Jets & Sends to Ukraine Immediately

In the most recent defense offer by a NATO member to Kyiv, Belgium pledged to deliver 30 F16 fighter jets to the country by 2028, underscoring the resolve of allies against Russia's escalating attack. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, reiterated his demand that Western partners remove limitations on the use of armament supplied to hit targets in Russia, calling it "unfair" that Ukraine was unable to retaliate against longrange missile assaults on its cities. Zelenskyy has presented a strong case for USbuilt Patriot systems that are equipped to intercept Russian missiles and aircraft that drop potent glide bombs on Ukrainian cities and military installations. According to the Ukrainian air force, using longrange air defense systems and F16s to take down the bombcarrying aircraft while they are in Russia is the only way to stop their usage. The F16s were sent under an agreement that limited their usage to the "territory of Ukraine," as stated by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. Because some NATO members believe that using western weapons against Russia will escalate the conflict, this has become a more divisive topic.
