Valor could be the monarch of vertical lift flight. This stateoftheart aircraft is packed with agility, speed, and versatility that will revolutionize modern warfare. Expected to enter service in 2030 as a Long Range Assault Aircraft (LRAA). Valor is heavily inspired by the V22 Osprey design. While the Osprey moves its entire engine to tilt the rotor, the Valor tilts only the rotor while keeping the engine nacelle fixed, simplifying the tilting mechanism.

With a cruise speed greater than 280 knots and a combat range of 500 nautical miles, the V280 will be the most soughtafter platform for medivac flights, infiltrations, and extractions. It can reach remote locations as it flies like a helicopter and could penetrate enemy territory swiftly as a fixedwing aircraft.

Bell competed with the coaxialrotor Defiant X from SikorskyBoeing and won the contract in 2022 to be the Army’s future Long Range Assault Aircraft. Bell is utilizing the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for the Valor, which allows a multitude of manufacturers to supply various modules for the aircraft, improving sustainability.
