Benzoin Condensation Reaction using Thiamine HCl
This is a Thiamine hydrochloridecatalyzed Benzoin Condensation (a green synthesis). The mechanism converts benzaldehyde to benzoin using Thiamine HCl as a catalyst. This is similar to the reduction reaction of benzaldehyde using Sodium Cyanide to produce benzoin.
