Beryl made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane around 5 a.m. Monday near Matagorda, Texas. It weaked to a tropical storm around 11 a.m. ET Monday. Beryl weakened to a tropical depression at 8 p.m. ET Monday as it moved inland and is expected turn northeast and bring rain to the Midwest. Beryl continues to produce flooding rains and the risk of tornadoes across portions of eastern Texas, western Louisiana and Arkansas. As of 8 p.m. Monday, Beryl is 30 miles eastsoutheast of Tyler, Texas.
