It’s been a long time since I flew a 3D airplane. Since my gasoline engine disintegrated a few years ago, I haven’t played with a 3D airplane anymore. This time, I caught up with DW’s new EXTRA, and I just had a blast setting it up.
This is the new model of the DWhobby brand at the end of last year EXTRA260. It is an allwooden empty machine product. The manufacturer has a package version with motor, ESC and servo for optional, saving you the trouble of selecting accessories by yourself. , but I didn’t use the equipment it came with, I chose higher performance power and steering gear. The specific model is at the end.
The entire structure of the aircraft is made of wood, and the installation is also a relatively traditional wooden aircraft installation method, which is not difficult, and the ailerons and elevator control surfaces have been installed at the factory. It uses a pin hinge. If you want to install it yourself, you still need to oil the hinge and then glue it, which is quite troublesome. All servos are exposed, and the rudder is a hardlinked singlesided direct drive. The motor fixing holes and the hood fixing holes need to be measured and drilled by yourself. The rest are all conventional installations. It takes about five hours to install the whole thing.
The workmanship of this aircraft is not exquisite, but there are no major problems. The flat tail platform is properly processed, and the front and rear edges of the rudder stabilizer are relatively flat. However, the details are relatively average. The polishing and processing of the wooden structure can clearly show unevenness and occasional raised areas. The design of the painting is exquisite, and the skin has a spliced ​​and cut pattern, which is very eyecatching when flying.
In terms of flight performance, it is an overall lighter 3D aircraft. With advanced power, it has a bit of excess power. It can climb vertically at half throttle. There is basically no adjustment or finetuning required for level flight. The roll and pitch response is fast and accurate, and it can perform various extreme movements. It is very suitable for 3D beginners to fly.

好久不飞3D机啦自从前些年我的汽油机解体就再也没玩3D机了这次赶上DW新出了这款EXTRA正好整一架过过瘾。
这是DWhobby品牌去年年底新出的机型EXTRA260它是全木制的空机产品厂家有搭配电机、电调、舵机的套装版本可选省去了大家自己选配配件的麻烦不过我没有用它自带的设备我选择了更高性能的动力和舵机。具体型号在最后。
该机整机结构为木质装机也是比较传统的木质飞机装机方式难度不高而且副翼和升降舵舵面出厂已安装完毕。它使用的是针脚铰链如要自己安装还需要转轴点油再粘接比较麻烦。所有舵机全部外露方向舵为硬连杆单边直驱。电机固定孔和头罩固定孔需自行测量打孔其他均为常规安装整体装下来大概五小时。
这架飞机的做工不算精致但没有什么大问题平尾翼台加工合适舵面安定面前后缘比较平整。不过细节的处理上比较一般木质结构的打磨和加工能明显看出不平整偶有凸起的地方。涂装的设计算得上精美蒙皮为拼接裁剪的图案飞起来十分醒目。
飞行性能上它属于一架整体较轻的3D机搭配上高级动力有些动力过剩半油门即可垂直爬升。平飞基本不用调整微调滚转和俯仰动作响应快速精准能进行各种极限动作非常适合3D入门玩家飞行。
