When you’re improving deer habitat through Forest Stand Improvement, we recommend a blend of two herbicides used by Dr. Craig Harper of the University of Tennessee for girdleandspray and stump treatments. This video discusses why Craig developed this blend, why it’s useful, the ingredients, and how to mix them.

Clarification: In the video, we state that a 2.5gallon jug of Arsenal AC will produce 200 spray bottles of the blend. This number refers to a 16oz. spray bottle, but a 24oz spray bottle is demonstrated in the video. A 2.5gallon jug of Arsenal AC will produce 133 blends in a 24oz. spray bottle.

Be Safe: Always read and follow the label on any herbicide you use, wear latex gloves to protect your skin when mixing and spraying them, and protect your face and eyes as well. Always use chainsawproof chaps, safety helmet, hearing protection and gloves when using a chainsaw.
