We did a video a week or so ago about the best clubs for producing those juicy football manager wonderkids we all crave, but what about the best areas to send your scouts to, to, ya know, find juicy wonderkids. We break out an aesthetically pleasing tier list to show how FM21 divides up every country into regions, then assess which regions are the best place to scout to maximize your wonderkid potential. Spoiler: I’m not telling you why Africa is in the thumbnail, but you should be scouting it.

This is my preferred way of scouting in Football Manager. Line up good scouts and embed them in a region until the end of their days in the scouting department. They learn the countries very well after a period of time, so wonderkids and hot prospects from that region pop up in your inbox as fast as possible, with the scout’s rating. Since FM18, it has led to some truly memorable runs through the champions league. The entire BATE team was built with this scouting method. Until FM really changes its methods, this will continue to be how I do things, with tiers of regions and loads of scouts.
