Most of the best things to do in Annapolis involve exploring its history. Start by visiting the HammondHarwood House, Maryland State House, or William Paca House. They’re both marvels of architecture and important historical buildings. You’ll feel as if you’re walking through time and traveling back into the American Revolution as you traverse their grounds.

Annapolis also has a range of museums to enjoy, including the BannekerDouglas and Maritime Museum. It’s also the only place in the world with a museum dedicated entirely to cryptology, the study of making and breaking codes.

Coastal towns live and die by their waterfront features. Watch or browse expensive boats at Ego Alley and the United States Sailboat Show or take a boat ride on the Chesapeake Bay.

Natural beauty abounds around the city. Visit Sandy Point State Park or Quiet Waters Park to get a taste of it.
