In August 7, 1993 Toyota produced the historic concert For The Record 2 in Folk Arts Theater, which aired with no commercial breaks on RPN9.
The concert assembled six of the greatest Filipino live performers such as Concert King Martin Nievera, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kilabot Ng Mg Kolehiyala of the 90s Ariel Rivera, The Vamp Verni Varga, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.

The concept of the concert was simple yet extremely amazing Each artist is to perform one record breaking solo production number to showcase his or her craft and genre. Simply superb.

Regine belted out her fantastic cover version of "What Kind of Fool Am I"
Zsa Zsa sang her iconic hit "Kahit Na"
Verni performed her legendary version of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five"

"Take Five" is one of the most difficult jazz pieces ever as it is 20% lyricdriven and 80% improvisation. No two performances are alike every time Verni Varga performs this as the improvisations that she renders are based on her mood.

Verni Varga's vocal acrobatics coupled with her sensual, vampy movements makes her not only The Queen of Jazz and The Vamp, but also the Queen of Showmanship as well. It's her spirit that is really unmatched The Sexiest, Most Sensual, Jazz singer in the history of the industry who is in the same level as Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez.

It should also be noted that Verni Varga is one of the original singing partners of a very young Regine Velasquez who fondly calls Varga as "My Labs." Regine and Verni shared the stage in numerous soldout concerts back in the 80s and the 90s (which I promise to upload soon).

Trivia Verni Varga and her husband were the very first house guests of Regine and Ogie Alcasid when the couple moved to their QC house. Regine cooked for Verni and her husband for Varga's birthday and they all had an intimate dinner.

Verni Varga has been reigning supreme as one of the Queens of live performances in the Philippines since the late 70s to the late 2010s up until the time when she retired from the business after an illustrious career that spans almost four decades.

"I've been singing this song for so many years...and since then nobody has ever attempted to do this song..." this is Verni Varga's spiel before she performed this song.

Verni Varga could effortlessly transition from the lowest notes to the highest whistle tone and did I tell you about the way she moves on stage????

I'm just so proud of my Ate Inday...known as Verni Varga...she is the kindest, sweetest, and most generous person ever.

Thank you Martin, Sis Zsa Zsa, Ariel, Ms. Regine, and Sir Gary V for continuing to admire and loving Verni after all these years. And thank you to all the OPM Artists who continue to love and respect and adore and admire my Ate. I love you all.

Special shoutout to Tita Angeli PangilinanValenciano, Ma'am Vina Pareja, my Manila Genesis family, and Sir Gary Valenciano for gifting Ate Inday and now everyone else with this precious footage.

Enjoy guys!
